Senior AWS DevOps Engineer
We are seeking a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our remote team.
In this position, you will be responsible for designing and building operational infrastructure to support online services (media) while automating wherever possible. You will be working remotely with a team of skilled engineers in an agile environment. Your role will require frequent interaction with multiple subject matter experts and senior technical professionals to identify current use cases and implementations and to design solutions that satisfy both current and future needs in a modern way.
responsibilities
- Design and build operational infrastructure to support online services (media), automating where possible
- Collaborate with developers, QA professionals, and product owners on key infrastructure decisions to drive project completion
- Provide technical leadership, ensuring engineers understand the infrastructure strategy and vision
- Collaborate with other engineers to drive individual delivery streams and overall program-level infrastructure architecture
- Document technical solutions clearly and concisely in written documentation
- Participate in and lead regular code reviews, often in a mentorship role with other engineers to maintain high development standards
- Interface with team members to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in both production and non-production environments
requirements
- At least 4 years of IT experience, including Software Development and Systems Engineering
- Solid experience with at least one programming/scripting language in production, such as Ruby, Python, JavaScript, etc.
- Proficiency in Bash/PowerShell
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
- Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) networking, compute, IAM, S3, auto-scaling, and DevOps Guru
- Expertise in Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Good knowledge of Linux systems
- Experience in handling incidents and being on-call
- Willing and able to be on-call as part of a larger rotation
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English (B2 level)
nice to have
- Solid experience in running Windows Server VMs in the cloud and everything it entails
- Prior experience with Prometheus/Alertmanager/Grafana
- Prior knowledge of Nomad
- Experience in CI/CD, building pipelines, and configuration of Jenkins or similar
